http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 winger Gael Kakuta has revealed that he intends to help Ligue 1 side Dijon climb further up the table as he joins the French side on a loan move until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 under-21 international joins the French side as they struggle in their relegation battle. He was initially loaned out to Premier League side Bolton Wanderers but was recalled after he did not get enough play time at the Reebok Stadium.
Last season Kakuta was sent to Fulham, but after seven appearances and one goal, his move was regarded as unsuccessful. He now joins Dijon with hopes that he will get a chance at first team football and help the side return to winning ways.
Kakuta said in an interview:
“I made the choice to go to Dijon because I saw them play and they play good football. Coach Patrice Carteron persuaded me.”
The Blues youngster revealed he had made the decision of joining Dijon because he had been extremely impressed with their playing style. In addition to that, Kakuta admitted he had spoken to the manager, who had done well to convince him to join the Ligue 1 side.
Meanwhile, Dijon midfielder Benjamin Corgnet was linked with a move away to the English Premier League due to his side’s struggling form. However, the 24-year-old has pledged his future to the club until the end of the season, which will intensely strengthen them going into the second half of the season.
He admitted that while he had received offers from the likes of Newcastle United, he was determined to stay and help Dijon avoid the drop zone come the end of the season. Corgnet felt the rumours regarding his future did not bother him nor would they affect his decision.
Corgnet revealed:
“To stay with Dijon, that's what I want, and that's what the coach wants. After, you never know what can happen, but I think it would be the best for me to end the season with Dijon.
I have read and heard that several English clubs, including Newcastle, are interested in me, but all these rumours do not really disturb me.”
