Juan Mata, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 winger, has revealed that manager Andre Villas-Boas is doing extremely well at the club even though their standings in the Premier League table say otherwise.
With the first half of the season over, Chelsea find themselves competing for a place in the top four. In a season that has seen many surprises; the Blues have registered wins over top sides but at the same time have lost to lowly teams.
They are currently at fourth place and Mata believes they need time to return to winning ways and hopefully to reclaim their place at the top of the table. He was full of praise for the Portuguese manager, who did well to make the players feel comfortable.
Mata said while speaking to reporters:
“I get along with the coach and he tries to talk to every player in his own language. I'm very happy in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and it's surprising how easily I've adapted as changing team is never easy.”
According to the Spaniard, Villas-Boas attempted to communicate with each player in their own language and had done well to make the new arrivals feel welcome. Apart from that, Mata revealed he was happy at the London club and had settled in well.
While he admitted the Manchester sides; Manchester City and Manchester United, were favourites to win the title this season, he was confident the Blues could manage to catch up if they remained consistent in the second half of the season.
He revealed:
“It's clear however that Manchester City and Manchester United are the favourites to win the Premier League.
I phoned http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Silva-c10601 to tell him to make City put on the brakes a bit but they are not doing so!”
The 23-year-old also praised fellow Spaniard http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, the Chelsea striker who has not managed to do well at his new club. Mata was confident Torres would improve as long as he got play time and found ways to contribute to the team.
Mata said:
“Torres was very good in the last game. He wanted to play a full game, is training hard and wants to contribute to the team.
He can rest assured that the team and the coach all have confidence in him.”
