http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Essien-c25294 and the arrival of Gary Cahill from Bolton Wanderers would help the Blues in their race for the Premier League title.
According to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 international, both the players were like new signings for the London side since Essien had been missing for quite a long time. His return will undoubtedly strengthen the squad while Cahill’s arrival will give Villas-Boas
more options in defence.
Cech said while speaking to reporters:
“They'll basically be two new players for us. It's been a tough time for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261, getting injured again and again, and the cruciate ligament is not what you wish on any footballer.
So big credit to the medical staff and especially to Michael for getting back so soon. It's great to have him back.”
The 29-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 international has been out of action because of a cruciate ligament injury that had him sidelined for the better part of the season. He is expected to return and claim his position in the holding midfield area for the Blues.
However, while he is expected to face competition from the new arrivals, his return will give Villas-Boas options to field a more experienced player in a somewhat struggling side. Cech revealed he was happy at Essien’s return, which is expected to make a
difference for the London side.
He continued:
“It's a great moment for everybody to have him back, not only because he's a great guy but now we have more numbers and more options. Any footballer who's been injured, two weeks out is already enough.
"He's been out for more than half a year, so that's obviously difficult.”
As for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 set to leave Stamford Bridge in the winter transfer
window, Villas-Boas will be in dire need of another central defender in case of injury to either of the two central defenders; http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542.
