Chelsea’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salomon-Kalou-c32266 reveals support for former manager Carlo Ancelotti – EPL news
Chelsea striker, Salomon Kalou, has claimed that the Blues ‘respected and loved’ former manager, Carlo Ancelotti, for all he has achieved in his short time at Stamford Bridge. The Italian was axed from his position as the Blues boss on the final day of the
2010/11 campaign, having failed to lead Chelsea to a single trophy in the entire season.
Ancelotti’s job was under threat from the moment Chelsea crashed out of this year’s UEFA Champions League, and his fate was sealed when the Blues lost the Premier League encounter against Manchester United at Old Trafford at the start of May. That defeat
ensured that the Blues would end the campaign without any silverware to show for their efforts.
Many in the Blues squad backed Ancelotti to remain as manager despite the failure. However, Salomon Kalou had not been as supportive of the Italian as some of his teammates. The Ivorian had earlier expressed indifference to Ancelotti’s fate.
Asked a few days ago whether or not he would like to see the former AC Milan manager keep his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, Kalou had said, “It doesn't matter who is the manager, the players have to be together and give a better performance. We don't make the decision. That's for
the board to decide.”
The fact that Chelsea lost their final match of the season against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 had already started
to search for a suitable replacement for Ancelotti.
Now that the Italian’s fate has been decided, Salomon Kalou has done a complete U-turn on his previous comments. The Ivory coast international said, “The players respect him and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Love-c22466 him for what he did for the club. We wish for Carlo to have a good time
wherever he's going. We all know that he's a good manager and he's going to bounce back."
Chelsea have finished as runners-up in the Barclays Premier League for the 2010/11 season.
