Cheltenham Gold Cup Festival Restaurant Guide
By far Cheltenham Gold Cup festival is the most anticipated festival amongst horse racing fans and others for years. Not only does it combine days of fun filled activity and exhilarating races but also lots of entertainment especially in the restaurants and dining departments.
With the festival being an eventful 4 days beginning on the 16th March to the 19th of March we start with the first day being:
16th March – The Champion hurdle race with the highlight of a parade showcasing previous Cheltenham Champions before racing.
17th March – St. Patrick’s Day: Share the luck of the Irish and you can join in with Irish bands, a wonderful buzz in the Guinness Village and even official Cheltenham shamrock on sale! The feature race of the day is The Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase.
18th March – Ladies Day: It’s all about fashion for the ladies and awards and prizes will be given to three lucky fashionable horse racing ladies.
19th March – The Gold Cup: The most awaited and anticipated day in horse racing calendar will mark a victory followed by making history!
Indeed these four days of mere entertainment, joy, pulse beating, heart racing, winning, losing will be all worth it and much more. Not to forget the exotic and delicious dinning experience the Cheltenham golf course has to offer catering to all tastes and budgets. You can turn up on the day you choose to attend the festival and walk into one of the following restaurants: Gold Cup Restaurant on Tuesday, Festival Restaurant on Tuesday and Thursday, and Horseshoe Pavilion & Glass Fronted Restaurant on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
A new facility is released especially for the Gold Cup day located in the horseshoe of the tented village, this will provide a Club admission ticket, a four course meal, morning coffee and afternoon tea and a complimentary bar (champagne not included). The rest of the restaurants are all located in glass rooms where you can eat and catch a stunning look of the racecourse watching the races as they take place.
Panoramic Restaurant
Situated on the 5th level of the main grandstand overlooking the winning post, the restaurant provides the most stunning views over the racecourse. Seated at your table you can enjoy first class cuisine, excellent table service, tote pool betting and, of course that view.
Gold Cup Restaurant
This restaurant offers dining in contemporary surroundings and is linked to the main grandstand by the Hall of Fame, paying homage to some of the sights, sounds, heroes and heroines of Cheltenham's rich history.
Glass Fronted Restaurant
New for The Festival 2010, this elegantly furnished restaurant overlooks the course, providing a stunning view of the action. With tote pool betting on hand and access to the paddock and parade ring, the Glass Fronted Restaurant offers all you need to enjoy a great day of racing in grand style.
Horseshoe Pavilion Restaurant
The premier restaurant in the tented village offers you and your guests a luxurious base in the heart of The Festival's unique atmosphere. Located near to the parade ring and the main viewing areas, the excitement and drama of the day are easily accessible from your table.
Festival Restaurant
The Festival Restaurant offers traditional style four course meal with exceptional service. Located close to the Hall of Fame and adjacent to the Gold Cup Restaurant, this facility provides you with an excellent base for the day and easy access to the main grandstand.
