The normal boiling point of acetone is 56.2 degrees C and its Delta H is 25.5 kJ/mol. At what temperature does acetone have a vapor pressure of 360 mmHg.

I have been using the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. ln(P2/P1) = (Delta H/R)((1/T1)-(1/T2)). No matter how I use it I cant get the right answer. My previous answers: 84.933, -152.26, ???? i am not sure what I am doing wrong. Please help.

  1. Should be around 309K (36C)

check to see that all units cancel and they are in the correct numerator or denominator

Most likely error is not using the correct R or not converting kJ to cal

    calculated value will be 304.8
