If the nucleus of an atom were the size of a medium sized orange (about 6cm diameter), what would be the diameter of the atom?

    the diameter of a nucleus is about 1/10000th the diameter of the atom.

  2. Period number refers to the highest occupied first principle quantum number. (The highest energy shell)

    I'm not sure about the second question, but my assumption is the Earth, since an atom's size is so large compared to the nucleus's size.
