    i would consider anything beyond 4 to be a strong acid

  2. A strong acid is an acid that dissociates completely (the H+ separates from the rest of the molecule in water).  There are six acids commonly considered strong acids: HNO3, H2SO4, HCl, HBr, HI, and HClO4.

    pH = -log[H+] = 7.35

    log[H+] = -7.35

    10^log[H+] = 10^(-7.35) = 4.47x10^-8 M

    Toluene has the chemical formula C7H8, and the total molar mass is 92.14 g/mol.  H has a molar mass of 1.01, and C has a molar mass of 12.01 (both in g/mol).  So, by mass,

    % H = 1.01*8/92.14 = 8.77%

    % C = 12.01*7/92.14 = 91.2%

    The formula for hexane (any isomer) is C6H14.  If you divide the coefficients by the greatest common factor, 2, you&#039;ll get C3H7, the empirical formula.
