  1. sugar dissolving in water is a physical change cuz the sugar breaks down but remain sugar(of very small size).any chemical properties of suger doesnt change, making it a physical change

    but in photosynthesis the following occurs :

    carbondioxide + water ----------> glucose + oxygen

         Co2          +   H20 ---------->C6H12O6 +    O2

    in this case,

    carbondioxide and water react to form two totally different compounds. here chemical change occurs.its a chemical change

  2. i think the sugar dissolving is physical

    i don't know about photosynthesis soz.

  3. A physical change can in most cases be reversed (ripping paper, melting ice).  A chemical change typically causes a change that cannot be reversed (burning wood, cooking food)

    Sugar dissolving in water - Physical change - you could seperate the sugar from the water if you wanted to by evaporating the water.

    Photosynthesis - Chemical change - The plant is taking in the necessary chemical it needs to convert into food.

  4. sugar dissolving in water is physical because the sugar physically changes and photosynthesis is chemical because the plant doesn't change just the chemicals in it do : )

  5. Are they undergoing a chemical reaction or just a change in their physical state?  Think about it.
