  1. depends on how thick/curly your hair is and where you get it done. it can range from 200-1000 dollars.

i have considered it, and i would NEVER get it done. it ruins your hair in the long run and besides, once you get it chemically straightened you'll never want to stop! i mean one u get used to the perfect straighteness why would u wana go back to unmanageable hair yaknow?

i would never get it done because...

    1. pricey.

    2. damaging to hair and wallet.

    3. you have to wait for your hair to GROW OUT. so basically, when it starts to grow out after 2 months, the roots of your hair will be curly (or whatever your natural hair is) and the rest of your hair will be pin straight...n thats weird.

    4. it burns your hair. all those d**n chemicals.

  2. i hadmy hair chemically straighteened and it works bterer fo the africn  ppl bc they have coarse hair.. i got mien done adn it as horrible..totaly fried and damaged my hair and i wish i never a gotton it done.. it is a lot of money.. like $$200 for me and  i wish i could take it back.. id say dont do it ..if u do ..good luck..

  3. dont do it

here i'll make it simple for you

    CHEMICALS+HAIR= SH*T

    :]

  4. I was talked into doing this by my hair salon.  I was told it was so much better than the Japanese since it would let my hair go back to its natural state within 3-4 months.  I was also told that it's much less expensive.  That much was true.  Everything else.....  not so much.  My hair is now super dry and brittle and I'm getting it cut very often in order to get the damage out of the way.  I started to take Biotin which is making my hair grow a little faster.  But basically I made a huge mistake.  I'm going to learn to accept who I am from now on.

The worst thing that happens with chemically straightened hair is that it's basically chemically changed so that when you pull it, there is no elasticity.  This means that you have to treat it like a thread or it's going to break on you....  Not so great.

  5. I have asian hair, which is already pretty straight, but I had a couple kinks in it. Anyway, I got my hair chemically straightened (thermal reconditioning, also known as Japanese hair straightening), and I think it was the best thing I could have done for it. It came out very smooth and there was absolutely no damage at all (if there was, I didn't notice), but, you can't wash your hair for a couple of days (3 in my case) and it can be pricey (I got mine done in China, where it was the equivalent of $50, but be prepared to spend up to $300) and it will slowly go back to its natural texture and your roots won't be straightened.

  6. it doesnt ruin it. and its worth it in the long run :)
