Hey

Iv been away sick for a while and i got back to school only to recieve this chem prac. I have no idea what this means and have no idea how to come up with my own investigation. We have to completely design the experiment in-class with only the materials we request. Help!

Thanks in advance

  1. Don't have time to give detailed answer, but here are some ideas........

H2O2 decomposes to H2O and O2. You need to identify something that will catalyze this decomposition - the enzyme catalase, for example.

Remember that a catalyst is not destroyed in a reaction............but one might look for a connection between catalyst level and reaction speed.

The other thing you need is some way to measure the concentration of H2O2 in solution. KMnO4 comes to mind - See:

Sorry, I cannot do it all for you.....
