  1. I got a 91, but they downweighted us so much, because if they had used the regular scale I would've had a 95.

The curve is worst for people who do the best.

  2. I got a 78 and I'm ecstatic! Even though that is my lowest grade by far...I'm glad colleges don't look at regents much..or at all, because compared to my two 100s and 90s, this one SUCKS.

  3. dont take it agian it is only going to get harder i got a 86 as long as you pass it really doesnt matter

  4. everyone in stuy was bored to tears waiting for us to be legally free to go =\

  5. i don't think you need to retake it you masterd it so thats good. :]

  6. i am a 95-100 student in chemistry but i got around the high 80's, low 90's on the regent (i didn't get my mark yet but based on the answers i got and the answers posted online i figured out around where my mark will be) because i misnumbered the last few multiple choices and i couldn't change it because i had already left the room.  but if i get lower than a 90, i'm going to take it over.

do you think they will adjust the curve like they did with math A a few years ago, to help people pass? and if they do, does it raise everyone- even someone who got in the 90's?

  7. well i asked my chem teacher today and he said i got a 90.  yesterday, before i found out my grade, most of the people in my grade got 65-71.

i dont think many got into 80s.  basically, how you've been doing the whoel year in the class is what you got on the regents.

today my chem teacher said a few honors chem kids got a 96.  -- prob the highest score in our school

  8. I got a 75, probably could've done better if  I had a decent chemistry teacher.

  9. what what i have been reading you do not need to re take it .. heres why  as of January 2003 till now  the best scores were the 60 only a few % made higher..  check this link out its from the education department

  10. Unless you can guarantee that you will do better, it may not be worth it. I am faced with the same dilemma, as I received a 96 on this regents. From what I'm seeing, compared to most with 70's, an 85 is perfectly fine and will not be looked upon as a poor mark, and in fact, the only way to make it better is to get a 95 or better next time. I personally suggest not retaking, as colleges will see both scores on your transcript anyway, and with an 85 and a 92 or whatever you receive, they'll either believe your first one was difficult, or your second was easy. So, I would say that the process of retaking is useless in this case. I do share my condolences however, as I'm quite angry that I didn't get a 98 over an error in my reading, however uncurved I received a 97.2, and as far as I can see, future colleges will think past your curved scores and see that you actually did quite well. I hope I was of service to you, and good luck on whichever you decide.

  11. i think 85 is pretty good. i wouldnt even think about retaking it unless you plan on taking ap chem
