2  everything is consumed by the earth in time, but some elements take longer. yes in conservation of matter depending on element.  metal to rust to element etc....

3  held by gravity of the sun,  we only gain more mass from particals of space entering our atmosphere

Say iron is corroded to it's oxides. Pure iron can be extracted by reducing or electrolysing the oxide.

(b) yes it does flow in a cycle. Metals rust in nature, get absorbed and converted by other organisms (like bacteria) and by other process (by pressure deep within the earth's crust) to give you back the original metal.

(c) yes it is coz, the total amount of metal on earth remains constant, since when metal rust, it gets converted back to the pure metal over time by nature.
