  1. a)1 kilogram = 1 000 grams

b)um to nm multiply by 1000

    c)1 second = 1 000 milliseconds

  2. Use conversion factors:

    1 kg = 1000 g

    1 m = 10^ -6 um = 10^ -12 nm

    1 sec = 1000 msec

Using the rule that n/n = 1 no matter what "n" is, you can use these conversion factors to change the units without actually changing the values:

    (a) 9.5x10^ -2 kg * (1000 g / 1 kg) = 95 g

    (b) 0.0023 um * (10^ -12 nm / 10^ -6 um) = 2.3x10^ -9 nm

    (c) 7.25x10^ -4 s * (1000 ms / 1 sec) = 0.725 ms

Might want to check the math, but I think these are right!
