put it on a balance and weigh it.

submerge it in water in a graduated vessel

Divide the weight by the volume

1) use a top pan balance or any other instrument that can determine mass                                                                                               2)obtain some water. use a measuring cylinder to measure a specified volume of water. record this volume.place this measured water into a beaker that is large enough to accomodate the irregular shaped object. place the object into the beaker filled with water.you will notice a rise in volume. record this new volume. subtract the old volume from the new volume and that would give the volume of the object                                                                                               3)find the mass of the object,find it's volume and divide the mass by the volume.equation:density=mass\volume
