  1. MgCl2 --> Mg++ + 2Cl-  ==> 3 mol ions for 1 mol MgCl2

    Likewise, NaCl contains two mol ions for 1 mol NaCl.

    365 g MgCl2 x (1 mol MgCl2 / 95.3 g MgCl2) x (3 mol ions / 1 mol MgCl3) x (1 mol NaCl / 2 mol ions) x (58.5 g NaCl / 1 mol NaCl) = 336 g NaCl

  2. GMW of MgCl2 is (24+35+35=94), so 365g is 3.9 moles when converted to ions = (3.9 x 3=11.7 equivalents)

    11.7 equivalents of NaCl = 5.85 moles GMW of NaCl is (23+35=58),

    so 58 x 5.85 moles -= 339.3 g.
