took the chem regents today and it was RIDICULOUSLY HARD!!! this test was much harder than all of the previous regents. i studied by taking previous regents test and i have to say that they definitely dont compare to the level of difficulty on todays test. i think that the wording on the writing section was too difficult, they put too much words on the writing section. the multiple choice was quite tricky and difficult as well

what do you think about the chem regents today?

  1. I thought the part ones were kinda tricky like 7  of them! i was unsure.but the part 3's and 4's were ******* easy man!!! I checked the answers and i think I got like 1 wrong! about the stupid gas thing! but yeah I think it was the hardest regents

  2. Totally agreed. I have been doing great all year and finally when the regents came around it was like a slap in the face. Worst of all the stupid curves are up they suck. BTW anyone know when the test with the answers will be up? I heard next week but just wondering.

  3. the curve's already up and its HORRENDOUS. so painful.

i actually sat for an hour look at that MC question about volume?? the answer choices were xenon, sulfur, te? and antimony?? does anyone know how that one was supposed to be done? there was a key word in there somewhere i didn't grasp.

  4. same! i was surprised when there was so much writing on it, & i thought all previous practice tests were easier

  5. Um, I pretty much thought it SUCKED!!!!!! I hate the state of new york and their lovely regents. But, so yeah. I'm pretty sure I didnt do so hot.....That last question? Who the heck knows why a smoke detector doesnt work in regards to the particles......geezum, NY, do SOMETHING else with your time!!!

  6. i geuss you guys didnt realize that the answer to the smoke particle was in the paragraph! The smoke particles disrupt the flow of ions and make the alarm sound! it wasn't knowledge it was just if you can read or not!

  7. why the h**l are these curves so freakin low? what's wrong with chemistry? the global curve is just fine.

  8. <-----it was suposed 2 be xenon because it is a gas=]

  9. the answer to the question about the smoke detector was in the reading they gave us. if you read it through again it said something about how the smoke particles disrupted the flow of the ions causing the alarm to sound.

  10. i think i did fine parts a and b-1 but holy c**p part c was ridiculous         wavelength? smoke detectors???? r u kidding me

  11. I also thought it was hard

especially like the las questions with the ligth specttra

  12. well in the last question i said that the alpha particles cannot ionize smoke particles...therefore when it hit the detector [Brownian motion], it interrupted the flow of ions and cause the alarm to sound.

  13. yes, this regents def. was harder than other ones.

i was seriously panicking a lot during this exam. i was total mess, and i'm an A student. not an idiot and all the chem teachers said it was the hardest regents ever given.

i hope there's lik a huge curve lik for math a u know??

i hated that they kept repeating moles and calculations over and over again.

like the test didn't have enough variety to it.

or maybe it did, but it had too much math.
