12.
The former World Champion and current World Number Four Jin, who is the second seed player in Men’s Singles category in the tournament, lived up to the expectations of his home fans and easily sent his Indian opponent packing in 43 minutes.
Jin played with precision throughout the competition against the lower ranked Indian challenger and managed to overpower him in an easy fashion in straight games with a dominating margin on the score board.
Pawar, who was un-seeded shuttler in main draw, gave a good fight in opening set but not enough to prove his worth in ending points. He could not maintain his rhythm in the following set and eventually crashed out without showing his brilliance.
Jin was in tremendous form as he played positive badminton while remaining confident on court and managed an impressive 8-3 lead at the opening stage.
However, Pawar geared up his speed and played attacking badminton which helped him to get close at 7-11 until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, Jin continued playing dominating and fast badminton and did not let his Indian opponent to level the score at any stage.
The in-form Chinese shuttler remained in commanding position throughout the concluding half and easily ended it up with a 21-17 score on the board.
The second game was one-sided as the Chinese shuttler was on a different level. He played positive and fast badminton and managed a reasonable lead of 11-9 until the break.
However, Jin left his lower ranked challenger in dismay by playing flawless badminton in the ending half and remained successful in finishing off the battle with a superb margin of 21-12.
Jin cheered his home fans by showing his elite skills in Men’s Singles first round when he registered an easy victory over Pawar with a 21-17 and 21-12 margin on the board.
