Chen Jin thrashes Hu Yun in pre quarter-finals of Men’s Singles event – China Open Update
Men’s Singles maestro Chen Jin served notice of his class in Li Ning China Open and ensured his presence in the quarter-final round on Thursday, November 15, 2012.
World Number four player did not find any trouble to outclass Hu Yun of Hong Kong and sealed a splendid straight-set victory.
Chen Jin took just 26 minutes to wrap this showdown with a favourable result of 21-10 and 21-17.
The lower ranked Hu Yun looked completely dazzled throughout this encounter as he failed to pocket even a single match point.
In the opening game, Chen Jin did not give his competitor enough time to get settled and confounded him with a flurry of power packed strokes.
He ruled the court in establishing rallies and laid the foundation of his supremacy. The Chinese campaigner who had huge support of the local badminton lovers played with great precision and piled up a mountainous total of 8-2.
He carried this flow all the way to half time and placed a decent figure of 11 to gain a psychological edge over Hu Yun.
Later part of the game was dominated by Chen Jin as he showed consistency in his performance and kept the opposing shuttler under control.
At first, he clinched few successive points to widen the gap and then wrap this segment of the showdown with a huge difference of eleven points in 21-10 margin.
However, it was not an easy win for him in the second set as Hu Yun showed great fighting spirit and stayed close on the points table in most part of the game.
In first half, the Hong Kong shuttler raised his chances by claiming three points in a row and then matched his rival’s skills in all areas of the game.
Hu Yun was just one step behind Chen Jin at 15-16 when the Chinese maestro utilised all of his experience to make a notable difference.
He bagged five out of ending seven points and locked the honour with a staggering knock of 21-17.
Now Chen Jin will meet either Daren Liew or Huan Gao in the quarter-finals of 2012 China Open.
