Chen Jin thrashes Przemyslaw Wacha in Men’s Singles Group L at 2012 London Olympics
China’s elite shuttler Chen Jin lived up to the expectations as he faced no trouble in his Men’s Singles Group L battle when he easily thrashed Przemyslaw Wacha of Poland at the 2012 London Olympics in London, on Monday, July 30.
The former World Champion Jin, who is currently World Number Four in Men’s Singles category, put up staggering show of perfect badminton as he did not take much time in beating Wacha in a dominating manner.
The fourth seeded Jin was on a different level and he proved his worth while keeping the pace of rallies high. He was in complete control on court and easily overpowered his Polish rival in straight games with a stunning margin.
On the other hand, the un-seeded Wacha failed to live up to expectations as he could not put up strong show in front of local crowd and crashed out without proving his worth against his dominating Chinese opponent.
In the opening set, both shuttlers showed an entertaining performance on court as they played aggressive and positive badminton and no one could manage a comfortable gap until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the higher ranked Jin started to dominate the game as he worked well at net and also played attacking badminton from rear-court area which helped him to get a reasonable lead.
The Chinese shuttler was at his best towards the end of opening game as he did not miss any chance to earn points against Wacha and eventually took the game with a six-point difference o 21-15.
In the second game, Jin was everywhere as he played with tremendous precision by taking the bird early and put his rival in all sorts of trouble by maintaining the pace of rallies.
Until the one-minute break, the Chinese shuttler made a huge difference on score board.
After the break, Jin continued showing his tremendous class while keeping the pace at the maximum level and easily ended up the game with a one-sided score of 21-8.
The in-form Jin easily tamed Wacha in straight games by putting up 21-15 and 21-8 score on the board.
