Chen Jin trounces Sho Sasaki to enter into Men’s Singles second round: 2011 Japan Open Super Series
Chen Jin, the former World Champion from China, entered into Men’s Singles second round as he trounced Japanese shuttler, Sho Sasaki in the first round of the 2011 Japan Open Super Series, in Japan, on Wednesday, September 21.
Jin has been playing wonderful badminton for the last few months and the shuttler continued his impressive performance as he played on a completely different level against Sasaki and won the battle without any problem. The World Number Six Jin spared no
chance for the World Number Nine, Sasaki and advanced into the second round of the Japan Open.
In the opening set of the match, the Chinese played with precision and remained positive in the whole opening set. He is known for his drives and powerful smashes which are his killing weapons in the court. He played in similar fashion against the Japanese
and easily overpowered him in a straight-set fight, which took 45 minutes.
The positive and aggressive game of the Chinese created problems for the local shuttler, who failed to dominate his opponent in the first game. The sharp reflexes and court coverage of Jin was incredible, as he was picking the bird from all corners quite
early which helped him in executing strokes wherever he wanted.
The Chinese played with perfect tactics against Sasaki, who failed to get rid of the attacking game of his challenger. Jin clinched the opening game in an impressive manner with the score of 21-15, by taking 25 minutes.
In the second set, Sasaki employed different strokes and tried to play with more variations but failed as the speed and accuracy of Jin spared no chance for Sasaki to get into a strong position in the second game.
The in-form Jin continued playing with variation and precision in his strokes, which helped him in finishing-off the second game with a margin of 21-12, in 20 minutes. This straight-set fight in the Men’s Singles draw ended in 45 minutes with a 21-15 and
21-12 score on the board.
