China’s impressive player Chen Long showed a wonderful performance and reached into Men’s Singles quarter-final after taming his younger compatriot Chen Yuekun in round-of-16 clash at Li Ning China Open 2012 at Shanghai, on Thursday, November 15.
The top seeded Long, who is currently placed at number three in Men’s Singles world ranking, played attacking and positive badminton and remained successful in stamping his mark over Yuekun in 39 minutes.
Long entered into the arena in a confident way and after a little wobble he took the opening set. However, he showed no respect to his rival in the following set and easily won this match in straight games with a stunning margin on the board.
In the meanwhile, Yuekun showed impressive performance in the opening set and remained close to his experienced rival in first game. However, he failed to maintain his positive run and eventually crashed out in straight sets.
In the first set, Long showed a wonderful aggression by playing attacking badminton on court and tried to create pressure on his rival but failed to create a strong lead as his rival was also in good form.
Until the mid-game interval of opening set, both shuttlers were playing positive badminton and no one could establish a comfortable gap on score board.

In the following game of this round-of-16 clash, Long maintained his superiority in the arena by playing positive badminton and remained successful in taking a wonderful lead until the end of opening half.
Yuekun tried his best to stop the progress of his experienced team-mate but he failed to create gaps and remained struggling.
After the one-minute break, the top seeded Long continued putting up stunning show of attacking badminton and remained successful in winning the second game with a sound 21-10 difference on score board.
