Chen Long sends Hu Yun Packing in Men’s Singles semi-final at BWF Superseries Finals 2012
China’s talented player Chen Long continued his dominating run in front of his home fans and reached into the final after showing exit to Hong Kong’s Hu Yun in Men’s Singles semi-final of BWF Superseries Finals 2012 in China, on Saturday, December 15.
The second seeded Long, who has also been placed at number two in Men’s Singles world ranking, played with remarkable precision and easily thrashed the World Number 14 and fourth seeded Yun while taking just 40 minutes.
Chinese shuttler was in staggering form as he played attacking and positive badminton while remaining confident and comfortable in the arena and remained successful in winning the battle in straight games with a dominating margin on the board.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Yun could not stretch his winning run in this tournament as he failed to create pressure on his local challenger at any stage in the game and eventually lost the match without winning any game.
In the first game, Long delivered a remarkable performance from the starting points as he played attacking badminton with a superb control and occupied the driving seat.
Long proved that he has obtained top quality skills on court and ultimately successful in taking a strong position in the arena.
Until the mid-game interval, the higher ranked Chinese shuttler was leading the game with a wonderful difference.
The contest progressed in the same manner after the one-minute break as the second seeded Long did not lose his focus in the arena.
It was a smooth sailing for the impressive Long who did not face any considerable opposition from his Hong Kong challenger and won the first set with a staggering 21-10 margin on the board.
In the second set, the in-form Long did not lose his control at the early stage and remained in control of rallies. However, he could not create a huge gap this time as his challenger also played attacking badminton.
However, the Chinese shuttler managed to stay in a slightly strong position as he managed a reasonable lead until the end of opening half.
Long continued putting up comfortable show in the ending part of second game and remained successful in clinching the game with a reasonable 21-18 total on score board.
Chinese shuttler proved his supremacy against Yun in the arena and easily thrashed him in two games with a comfortable margin of 21-10 and 21-18.
