Badrinath at the other end was trying his best to match his captain shot by shot. He got to his half century before Dhoni, while the wicketkeeper batsman completed his half century in the final over of the innings.
India’s ICC World Cup 2011 winning captain smashed two more sixes in the final over to finish at 63 not out from 31 balls with 5 fours and 4 massive sixes. Badrinath was run out in the final over for 55 from 43 balls with 6 fours and a six.
Chennai ended their innings at 176 for the loss of 4 wickets, and have already assured themselves a place in the playoffs by securing the second spot in League table.
