A scintillating knock of 46 runs from West Indian cricketer, Dwayne Bravo, secured a win for Chennai Super Kings in a Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) match played against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cape-Cobras-c776 on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.
Chennai were playing at home and were set a competitive total of 145 runs by the South African club. The reigning champions chased down the total in 19.4 overs with four wickets still intact.
Bravo not only performed with the bat but was quite impressive with the ball as well. The all-rounder grabbed two wickets and conceded a mere 23 runs from his quota of allotted overs. Bravo, who was unanimously selected as the
Man of the Match, seemed content with his performance and hoped to continue the good work.
“Today was a great day for us. I was backing my ability. Steyn bowled just one bad ball and got on top of it. I have worked hard on my bowling in the nets, changed my action a bit. Happy now, I am enjoying my cricket now. Hope
this continues later in the tournament,” said Bravo.
CSK are now in with a chance of making it to the final four. Though, they are currently placed third in group-A. However, CSK are leveled with second placed Cape Cobras.
Chennai skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, had heaps of praise for Bravo after the all-rounder pulled-off a win for his side in the crucial game. The skipper also paid tribute to his bowling brigade, which humbled Cape Cobras' batsmen.
Dhoni, at match presentation, said, “Had we lost, it would have become very difficult. It was a big game for us and Bravo played a special innings in the end. My heart was pounding. We are looking forward to the next game. The
score of 145 was a very good effort by our bowlers, who capitalised really well when they lost a couple of wickets at the wrong time.”
Cape Cobras will be back in action on Friday, September 30, when they go up against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Chennai, on the other hand, have three days of rest before they host Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday,
