Which bridge. There is the Chesapeake Bay bridge at Annapolis Maryland that has no tunnels. And then the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel. There are two tunnels there and the road goes through both of them. There is bridge for a couple miles then tunnels then bridge again for a couple more miles then tunnel again, then more bridge.Check it out

yes it starts as a bridge and then goes down into a tunnel and the back up to a bridge

the tunnel is so boats dont have to wait for the bridge to open up for boats to pass
