Cheshire boys volleyball team and Staples to meet in Class L championship match
The Cheshire boys volleyball team is up against Staples in the final of the Class L championship match that is scheduled to be played tonight at Fairfield-Warde High School.
In case the Rams succeed in sealing the deal on their rivals, it will be the first time that they would win the state title.
The coach of the Rams made the following comments about the upcoming match and her team’s performance, “I'm excited for them. It's an opportunity for them that they have never experienced. They have met every challenge and conquered.”
The Rams have much to be confident about as the head for the championship match tonight. They have the top ranking in the state and are also the number one seed in the Class L tournament. The Rams have been able to secure these honours after putting up an
admirable undefeated record throughout the season. The number of times that the Rams have been able to earn themselves a win total to be 21. They will be trying their best to end the season with a spotless performance record.
The player that has been most effective in the line-up of the Rams is Nate Howard, who is the outside hitter on his team. The total number of kills that Howard has posted for his team equal to be 314. Not only that, he also contributed by putting up 41 points
made on service aces.
Other than that, Joe Bahgat, Ryan Cuppernull and K.C. Philcox have also been instrumental for the Rams. Baghat has been able to register a total of 228 kills as well as 96 digs. Cuppernull on the other hand has been able to manage 210 kills in all. Cuppernull
also stayed active on the defensive side by making 58 digs that were supported by a total of 23 blocks. He also kept the scoreboard ticking by adding 22 points on service aces in this season so far. Last of all, Philcox has tallied kills that equals to be
119. Not only was Philcox active in the offense, he also made digs that total to be 63.
