Chess Q: why sometimes I can play flawlessly and sometimes poorly, mental slump?

Sometimes I beat higher ranked players with ease sometimes I can't win a game. Is this common in the chess world?

  1. im like this sometimes,i get more into playing a higher rated player,sometimes i dont always concentrate on the lower ranked players,just try to remember that just because they are lower ranked,doesn't mean they cant play good moves,or get you on the wrong end of a sharp tactic.


  2. depends on who you play. you may think your playing the best game of your life but you could be playing someone whos never even played chess and their just learning. then you think you are just flawless. but then you play someone higher in skill than you and you think you play the worst game of your life.  its in all of us. just kepp on getting better so you can compete with those people who are "better" than you
