Firstly, I wanted to know how good you think I am because I've never competed in tournaments. However, I played a kid who was 1300 and I beat him and he beat me. Second, where can I compete in chess tournaments for money near

Teaneck NJ?

NY?

Farthest philadelphia but rather not.

Thanks so much

P.S. I never played seriously just started this year playing kids in my school

  4. Hello --

First off you are not ready to play chess for money!  Don't even think about it!

1300 is not very high rating ... 1500 is average

1900 is expert -- 2200 is master level.

There are lots of opportunities to play chess near where you live:

Good luck in your journey ...

  5. Bull puckey on the first answer.  You make money when someone is willing to pay you.

My GUESS as to your rating is 1300.  That is only a GUESS.  Two games is not a lot to go on.

At the tournament the Tournament Director (TD) will count you as "unrated."

I gave you the last link before New Jersey and Pennsylvania split into separate pages.
