somewhere in india in 80 it came out, and spread into persia etc. Chinese chess is so similiar to chess, but indians did not copy the chinese, thus the indian version came first, and thus chess came before chinese chess.

Chess originated from India around the 6th century.  For cultural differences and requirements the game was modified as it was travelled east and west along the trade routes. The traditional Chinese Chess version appeared during the 8th century from India. The Koran denounces the game in the 5th chapter because it employs Islamic faith forbidden graven images.

chinese chess came out first. There are two theories, indian chess came out first, or chinese chess. Either way, euro chess is an offshoot of indian chess.
