Chess collecting?

i like to play chess but since i was a kid very few people i knew didnt like it (made them think too much)so i decided to collect chess sets i like highly detailed beautiful designs

my question is what should i know when collecting chess sets

special "makes" ,hand crafted,

example i saw one at an antique shop that the king height was about 2" and it was hand carved from israel nice beautiful and 700$

please explain as much as possible

    im going through that now, what you were going through, most of the time i want to play it, its quite addictive.

    recoignised brands are more likely to provide good services as they actually care about their reputation, but if you like it go for it if you think it is worth is, question what the seller says and research before buying.

When you collect chess sets it is like collecting art.  Only you will know when it is worth the money the seller is asking.  I am also into collecting chess sets and I have found that uniqueness is the main thing that I am looking for when I aquire a new one.  I have one from Korea and one that is hand made that looks like it comes from Alice in Wonderland.  And a few others.  The most I have paid is $100, but then I don't have a lot of extra cash.
