Quick Question...when a pawn becomes a queen ( by reaching the end of the game board), can you still kill that queen?

  1. once a pawn reaches the end of the board, you can swith it out for any piece, even if that piece hasn't been taken yet. if all your pawns get to the other side and survive, you could have 9 queens. but yes, they can still get killed. they are not invincible, otherwise the other person almost couldn't win.


  2. Yes. Every single piece on the board is vulnerable. So if I moved my pawn to be a queen, you could immediately take your rook and kill(you should really say "take" instead of "kill")it.

  3. Any opponents piece is up for grabs, provided you have the means to take it. The "promoted" pawn is no exception. The only pieces never removed from the board is the kings. Also, the pawn does not need become a queen. It is just the most likely piece to choose. It may become any piece besides, staying a pawn, or becoming a king. It can even become a piece that is already on the board, for example - you could very well have three bishops if you choose to do so from pawn promotion.
