  4. You can

  5. yes u fool

  6. You can actually get any piece you want, whether or not it's been captured.  For example, you could wind up with two queens.

  7. Yes.....I just found out the other day.

  8. if a chess piece reaches the other end of the board any of the pieces that have been taken of yours can be replaced in the same place as the pawn was..

  9. yes, and get the queen

  10. Yes.  In fact the piece need not be captured.  Say you still have your queen but get a pawn to the edge - You can still get another queen.  Problems with available pieces can sometimes make that impracticable.  If rooks are gone, turn one upside down and call it a queen.   (Yes, rooks in drag...:))

  11. Yes. This is called "promoting a pawn" or simply just "promotion".

If a player's pawn reaches the back rank of their opponent then that pawn can be promoted (changed) into any other piece except a pawn and a king. The person promoting gets to choose which piece they want.

Most of the time people promote their pawns into queens because the queen is the piece with the greatest attacking potential and often leads to the fastest way to win. But, in certain cases, it may be best to "underpromote" and choose a piece other than a queen.

  12. yes, also you can lets say u have ur queen still then you can get another queen.

  13. Yes.  If a pawn reaches its eighth rank (the other side) you can exchange it for any extra piece except a second king or another pawn (which would defeat the whole purpose anyway).  However, most people chose to exchange for either their queen which has been taken or a second queen (if they still have their queen), because she's the most powerful piece.  But if you favor rooks instead, don't hesitate to ask for one.
