Chess or Powerchess , which is better?

Question

Powerchess is a Filipino designed chess variant in which new characters are added. The new characters are Mages, Rangers, Archers and Guards. The rules were also changed to make the game more logical. Same 64-square board. But there are 24 pieces now per color. You can search "Powerchess" in the net. or at gamalielperez.8m.com

Not a clue what power chess is...I'll have a look though.

Regular chess is fascinating, but there is so much existing theory that you have to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours studying in order to compete with really good chess players.  Powerchess would enable you to use your own imagination and creativity without studying lots of books and existing theory.

Apparently "Powerchess" refers to more than one game. Here's a variant called Power Chess which gives each player 8 pawns, a king, and 7 queens:
