can anyone give me some good chess strategies?i really need strategies.i am competing in tornaments.

The opening is an important part of the game.

When you're opening move E2 to E4 first for some room on the board and work from there, but don't move a piece more than once in the opening. Maybe you could check on the internet for any other tips.

Try to control the center and get your knights out early.  Then castle early and eat the other players pawns.  Then trade off queens, and try to another one by advancing a pawn.
