  1. f2 - f3 for the pawn

Sorry - I was interupted before I could finish. But I like the response by the next person.

  2. e5 is best, an djust support it with d4

  3. As White I would play e4-e5 to chase the Knight.  Bd3 to protect the pawn is also playable.

The suggestion in the other answer doesn't look too good because of the sacrifice

    f2-f3 N:e4

    f:e4 Qh4+

Then White loses a Rook after

    g2-g3 Q:e4+

    While the alternative

    Ke2 Q:e4+

might easily be good for Black.  He gets two pawns and White's exposed King position in exchange for a piece.

Additional thoughts:  If the suggested sacrifice after f2-f3 doesn't work, Black can still get a terrific position by playing simply d7-d5.  White's King pawn remains under pressure and has already made too many weakening pawn moves.

  4. I think 3.f3 Nxe4 4.fxe4 Qh4+ 5.Ke2 Qxe4+ 6.Kf2 looks ugly, but still white would be a knight versus 2 pawns up. Black only has the queen in play. I would not play it though, because black can just play 3...d5 instead. I think the point of playing f3 is just moot. Since you already played c3, (why not d4 first?) it makes sense to play 3.e5 Nd4 4.d4. Now the game looks a bit like the Alekhine defence. Maybe you want to continue with c4, except you've already played c3, so then you'd be wasting a move. So, you either give up the extra tempo or you settle for developing moves here. I don't know what is best, just that the second option is more economical.

From here, black can counter with d6 and/or c5 to break up your centre, so, be careful.

    Good luck.

By the way, I think 3.Bd3 d5 looks awkward.

    4.f3 dxe4 5.Bxe4 Nxe4 and black wins material.

4.e5 Nd7 5.Nf3 (Qg5 could have come.) c5 6.Qe2 Nc6 leaves all the white pieces defending e5, while Bd3 is blocking d2-d4. Maybe 5.f4 is best, but still white is taking his sweet time to develop.

You could exchange in the centre or give up the bishop for the knight, but certainly that would leave whithout any advantage.
