Chest Pain and Shortness of breathe?

Question

Every once in a while, randomly, i get this pain on the left side of my chest and it hurts a bit, but lasts no more than 5 min.

I also can't take deep breathes because it'll make it hurt more so i have to take short breathes.

I have had this since as long as I can remember, possibly 3rd grade.

I am now 16, weight 120 lbs, and im 5'4.

Any help on what this might be?

Can it be heart related or lung/respiratory related?

Thanks in advance, and no i dont think Im having a heart attack or anything when I get this.

I've grown quite accustom to getting this, actually. lol

i get this too! but mine sometimes last for an hour or more. =( my doctor told me it could be anxiety. does it happen when your excited, nervous, scared or stressed?

that exact same thing happens to me too! a sharp pain in my chest when i try to breathe in deep, that only happens once in a while, last for a few minutes, but then goes away like nothing happened. i asked my doctor about this one time and he said that it was probably just a spasm of some sort and that its no big deal. and my doctor is a respiratory specialist so i bet hes right. i hope that helps! :)
