  1. It's possible that you have a condition called pleurisy.  This is a condition that happens when you have a "dry spot" or a fluid "bubble" in the pleural space, which is the space between the linings of your lungs.  If you take a deep breath, you will have pain in the location of the pleurisy and may even feel a "popping" sensation at that location.  It may, or may not, be associated with your smoking (although, I would say most medical professionals will say that it contributes - if for no other reason that it reduces your lung capacity and could contribute to the drying effect in the pleura).

Normally, this space is filled with fluid which acts as a lubricant for the lining of the lung and the lining of the chest cavity to move against each other without friction - when you have a dry spot (pleurisy), that spot "sticks" as it is trying to move against each other.  This is a painful sensation, especially when taking a deep breath, thus causing maximum movement of these two linings.  The "popping" sensation is when these two linings actually "un-stick" and the movement continues.

Since this also can be caused by an infection, you might want to consult a doctor about this condition.  Lots of water would be recommended, as the hydration would help with replenishing the fluids there.  If it is from an infection, you will need an antibiotic to treat it.  The test for pleurisy is very simple.  It only requires the doctor listening to your chest while you are breathing.  He would be able to hear the pleural layers sticking while trying to move against each other.

    Hope this helps!

  2. YOUR DIEING!!!!

    good luck though

  3. It is probably all the tar making the walls of your lungs stick together.  Have you ever took a really deep breath and felt a pop that hurts like crazy and then it goes away?  That used to happen to me all the time when I smoked.
