  1. Ding Bat, nice link!  To add to what you said (and yes, it was originally part of the Morris & Essex), after looking through the website a bit deeper I was able to reach a page, which had a short history of the Chester Railroad.  As it turns out, northwarrenphotography, the Chester would come to be yet another predecessor of the now classic fallen flag, the Lackawanna (the M&E became part of the DL&W):

"For more interesting rail-trail jaunts, the town of Chester, in Morris County is a sure bet. The Patriot's Path, Morris County's continually growing series of trails, makes good use of rail mileage in and around the Chester area. The Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western's Chester Railroad opened in 1869 to access the Chester Furnace and growing mining industry. Now, the Chester Branch is a beautiful trail through Morris County's Black River Park and the state's Black River Wildlife Management area."

  2. No .. I never heard of it .. but is this the one your talkin' about? about half way down the page it says ....

The Chester Railroad, a branch of the Morris and Essex line, offered passenger service as well as the freight line. Ironia children utilized the train to attend classes in Dover. The train ran from Chester and stopped in Horton, Ironia, Succasunna, McCainsville (Kenvil), Port Oram (Wharton), and Dover. Connecting trains into New York City were available. The last Chester Railroad passenger train left Ironia on December 31, 1932. The last freight soon followed. The railway was officially abandoned in December, 1933, and the track dismantled.

I thought it was interesting to read about ... hope that helped ya out babe.
