Cheteshwar Pujara, the 24-year-old cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, as he has done his homework for the trip.
Pujara played under RCB’s (Royal Challengers Bangalore) flag in the recently concluded Indian Premier League, but did not get much field time as the side had a very competetive roster.
Pujara sought the advice of experienced South African cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Allan-Robert-Border-c43726’s advice useful and is hopeful that it will help him during the one month long Caribbean tour.
“I might not have played for RCB in the last month and a half but I was working really hard at the nets. Since this is my first tour of West Indies, I was keen on doing a bit of homework,” Pujara told PTI.
“I spoke to AB about the wickets there and also on my batting. He (De Villiers) gave me some good tips on subtle adjustments in batting,” he further added.
Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bapu-Krishnarao-Venkatesh-Prasad-c47275, also had a word of advice for the youngster. According to the former Indian international, the pitches in West Indies suit India’s style of play, however, the deck at Kingston
has a bit of pace and bounce in it.
Pujara has been given the responsibility of leading India A during the tour. The 24-year-old, who has played three Tests for India, said that there won’t be any added pressure on him. The right-hander batter is considering the
tour of West Indies as a chance to make a comeback into the national side.
“I have never felt any pressure. It is a big motivation to play for India 'A' as any good performance will be noticed. Most of us have played for 'A' team on overseas tours, so we have that requisite experience,” said Pujara.
The tour of West Indies comprises of three Test matches, two T20’s and three One-dayers. It will start from June 2 with a four-day game at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown.
