Chev Walker inks new Bradford contract - Rugby League News
Chev Walker has extended his term with the Bradford Bulls for the next twelve months on Monday, September 5. This extension has followed Bulls’ massive 48-24 victory against the Crusaders, on Sunday, September 4.
Walker was taken onboard with the Bradfords last season from Hull KR and was off-field for almost four months because of a foot injury. Since Walker had to sit out of the Bradford games for so long, the club's decision to give him an extension pleased him.
While speaking about his latest contract with the Bulls, Walker stated, “I got a good stint in and enjoyed being out there, although obviously I was just a little bit off the mark. I’ve counted every day that I’ve been out and am absolutely delighted to
have signed again. I’ve loved the place since I arrived and felt welcome from day one, so I’m thrilled to be here again next season and to be part of the club’s future. Missing so much of my first year at Odsal has been really frustrating but the fans and
the club have eased the pain of not being able to play.”
Walker was happy with the move and is thrilled to be part of the squad for the upcoming season. He also admitted that he had missed playing for the Bulls and is all geared up to be part of the squad.
Bulls’ coach, Mick Potter, appreciated Walker’s inclusion in Friday night’s clash and acknowledged that Walker adds to the “professionalism” of the club. Coach further added that Walker has brilliant work ethics and he is a brilliant utility back, who can
play both for the row back and centre position. Talking about the versatility of Walker, coach also added that he can also fill in for the winger’s position, in case of injuries, which adds diversity to his skills’ palette.
Potter further shared that the Bradfords’ utility back is amazing in defence and his ability to touch down at the line and his big hits are one of his praiseworthy attribute which is a rare commodity in the world of rugby.
