  1. 1..its not good on gas

2.1990s? usually have 100,000 miles...ready for many new parts

3..why a truck? are you hauling hay, gravel, auto parts, furnature? if no..get a honda civic for first car,,

  2. I have owned a couple of trucks like this and I can honestly say that they have been some of the most reliable vehicles I have ever had. The bodies started to rust out after a while, but then they were pushing twelve years old, or better. The most costly repair I had to do between two of them was a rear-end, but I drove that truck hard so I'm not surprised, the rest of the time it was standard tune ups, oil changes, with a starter or alternator thrown in from time to time. I would buy a mid 90's chevy or GMC again in a heart beat if the price was right. make sure you go for the 350 (5.7L) motor though, good power, and bullet proof motors.

  3. What things have gone wrong with the car?

1.My radiator went out at 230,000 miles.

2.The interior, while remaining functional, is visually displeasing.

3.The lower portion of the Extended Cab has rusted all the way through.

4.I purchased the Blue and Silver paint scheme, and almost all of my paint has come off of the hood and roof.

    General comments?

1.This truck is undeniably the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned. My truck has 248,000 miles on the original drive train, with nothing, but tune-ups and oil changes.

2.The interior is very comfortable. I have taken multiple trips from Oklahoma to Texas in my truck, and have had nothing, but a smooth, enjoyable ride.

3.The 5.7 Throttle Body Injection engine has been nothing, but impressive since the day I bought the truck. I still have trouble keeping the tires from slipping in any kind of rain.

4The overall drive train, mine having the 5.7 liter engine with a 700R4 transmission, is remarkably powerful.

  4. I'm gonna start off saying the GMC will be a little better of a choice because shock wear on a Chevy is a little higher but overall they're both good. The truck gets around 15mpg but it depends on what motor variant you get. I believe all American made trucks are quality built and will last you a while and is a good first vehicle. Trucks aren't much different than cars unless you got the diesel then the engine components are different.

    (~Buy American~)
