It is on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier.

There is a section behind the wheel that shows your speed, RPM , fuel level and more things, it also has a wrench like symbol that can light up , as well as a check engine light thing that looks like a little engine symbol, or maybe it is a transmission symbol, not sure, but at any rate there are two different symbols, what do these two mean? They are obviously different things and they can light up.

  1. the light that looks like an engine is the "Check Engine" light which is telling you there is a need for servicing:oil change  filters etc. the wrench symbol if so described looks like a circle with a curved line on each side means brake work or adjustments need to be done. this last symbol also lights up if emergency brake is on or not fully disengaged. check your owners manual and take the vehicle in for servicing and diagnostics, better to spend a few bucks now than a lot later if they are ignored.
