Chevy Traverse commercial - I don't get it?

During the Olympics, they've been airing a Chevy Traverse commercial about a guy ironing and making dinner reservations for his 6-month anniversary. Then, the pan to the car (so obviously he's had the car for six months?) So, what's with the dress he holds up, and the toilet he's cleaning at the end of the commercial? I just don't get this commercial. Anyone explain it to me?

  1. I've got the same questions!  Does anyone know what this commercial is supposed to be conveying?  It also looks like he's ironing something white but then holds up a child's orange dress ... I just don't get it.

  2. It's a rip-off of the "p**n for Women" series.

  3. just another dumb car commercial I'm assuming. It's to get views and make money, not really to make sense.

  4. The narator says "don't be afraid to cross over".  Traverse is a crossover SUV.  Apparently GM wants to pull out those trapped feelings in men, who have resisted urges to iron clothes, make dinner reservations and clean the toilet with no shirt on.  Where is his wife anyway?  Oops... was it sexist of me to assume he had a wife who SHOULD have been ironing and cleaning toilets?  Or is the commercial reverse-sexism by implying that men shouldn't do these things?  I'm sure somebody will waste too much time worrying about it.  It's the dumbest commercial for automobiles I've ever seen and could ruin the car launch.
