Chevy cavalier remote programing

I want to know if i can program a new remote to my sisters cavalier or does she have to bring it to a dealer?

If its a newer model cavalier 2001 through 2005 you will need to have the dealer program the remotes using a tech-2 scanner.This is the only way.If this cavalier is a 1997 through 1999 you can use this link to program remotes.Best of luck.http://programyourremote.com/
