Cheyenne Woods turns professional, will she repeat history?
Cheyenne Woods has finally said good bye to her amateur status and she is now a professional in the world of golf.
Being a niece of Tiger Woods, she is looking forward to make a name for herself in the history of the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) just as her uncle made history in the PGA Tour.
Woods has an impressive approach to her level of play in golf. Her win at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship (ACC) in 2011 gave a brief glimpse of her signature touch to golf.
Earl Woods Sr., her grandfather and her coach, crafted her in her early days while she was discovering her talent. Her family holds a respectable position in golf and carries experience as well.
It was 2009 when Woods got a hold of a sponsor which could have lead her to the LPGA way early then her time yet she missed the cut by four strokes causing an early exit from the Wegmans LPGA and missing a chance of becoming professional.
This year after graduating from Wake Forest University, Woods signed a deal with Tiger Woods agent Mark Steinberg for her start to professional golf.
“We are excited about the opportunity to represent Cheyenne. She has the chance to be a major star on the women's golf scene” said Steinberg.
Woods appears strong and confident while speaking about her becoming professional. She aims for the stars and aims on becoming a legend like her uncle.
“As I begin my professional career, I am confident and excited about working with Excel as they help shape my future, both personally and professionally.” said Woods.
The LPGA is dominated by names like Yani Tseng, Na Yeon Choi and Suzann Pettersen. Woods would need a lot more than just good play to make a mark on the field.
Cheyenne Woods can make a name in the world of golf if she remains consistent and focused on the right aspects of golf. Her uncle, on the other hand, has gone absurd with his silly acts and bad game-play which has cost him his entire career.
This year will define her as a player and a person. Her roots contain talent and her family holds enough respect and experience to give her the push required to embark success and glory. The rest is yet to be seen as she marches towards her first professional
tournament.
