Chic relaxed hotel in St Germain area of Paris?

Hi all. I'm going to Paris in late April and am looking for a hotel in the St Germain area, close to the Seine. Not so interested in the grandness of the public areas or the quality of the dining room but do want a well appointed bedroom which is quiet and has a sitting area. Budget up to 200 euros p.n.

Any hidden gems out there?

Am I looking in the wrong area?

  1. There are a few.  It's a great area close to just about everything and very near the Seine.  There are a couple of hotels on the quai (some with views of the Seine) which are the Quai Voltaire - a nice little hotel near the Muse D'Orsay.

There is also the Hotel St. Germain on rue St. Germain which is fine and clean.  Another nice one is the Hotel Notre Dame, worth checking out but might be a little pricey.  Another favourite of mine is Hotel Universite near the Sorbonne.  It's on a quiet street and has lovely, well appointed rooms.

Hotel Lutecia is georgeus, too, have a look at the the website.

Those are a few I've stayed at and enjoyed.  Have a great trip!

  2. Yes!  Stayed here 9 years ago and then just over Christmas.  In St. Germain area.  Has been renovated between my visits and the charm is even BETTER!! At the L'Odeon Metro, cute and excellent restaurants all around.  Near alot of the sites and very, very comfortable and hospitable.  They will arrange a shuttle to pick you up from hotel (which beats the cost of a cab or fighting the trains after a long flight).  Check them out.

    Highly recommend!

  3. You can search and choose hotel information, rates and availability for free in over 200 countries world wide at my profile.

  4. Look at  www.venere.com

You can look at hotels in the area you are staying in and read reviews by the guests who have stayed there.

The rates are very reasonable, and you do not get charged until you have actually stayed there.

    Have a lovely time.

  5. You've chosen an excellant area to stay in.

I suggest you check out the Hotel Left Bank St. Germain at 9, rue de l'Ancienne Comédie. http://www.paris-paris.com/hotel_left-ba...

  6. Haven't stayed here but looks really cute.
