Should Chicago have the right to bear arms? Is Daley cracked that Chicago can not have guns in their own houses? Is the Superintendent at fault too, since he does not know how to tackle crime in this city?What should be done about getting rid of crime in Chicago?

You ask too many questions here...the last of which has many possible responses.

NO...he's been off to China to promote his dream.

YES...all citizens have that right.

NO...not all are citizens and some are felons.

NO...not enough time for this judgement...he's a puppet of the mayor.

Create a military state:

1)  strictly enforce curfew laws that have been in effect for decades.

2)  enforce responsiblity laws in which parents/guardians are responsible for restitution and damages to victims and gov't.

3)  have the county build much larger jails to house accused who won't be able to make bond.

4)  install thousands of videocams to "keep an eye" on everyone.

5)  hire hundreds of police and buy hundreds of armored vehicles to enforce laws.

Create a more calmed down state:

1)  hire thousands of counselors and social workers for underprivileged

2)  re-hire truant officers that were "let go" decades ago

3)  create thousands of low-skill jobs for homeless and unemployed

4)  install hundreds of video rooms in every neighborhoods to keep evryone off the streets...make the games of low-reading ability.  

5)  give everyone a free pager with email capabilities.  This will eliminate loud music, and cell phone use and keep busy fingers occupied.

Reducing unemployment will help a lot. We've got one of the highest unemployment percentages in the country.  People have too much free time on their hands. They have to much time to get into fights and end up killing people (they're already stressed about not having enough money). Someone gets on their last nerves and next thing you know someones getting shot. If people were busy with their JOBS they'd have less time to worry...or care about the silly things people around them are doing and they wouldn't be shooting people up!

i agree that it's terrible... but you know.. this world we live in is somethin' else.

i think our city's problem is all the gang violence. we need more youth-targeted programs to keep them out of trouble, you know?

How will bearing arms help? Most of the people being shot are being shot at random and caught off guard. It's not like someone will walk up to you and say, "Draw, pardner." There was a chicago COP that got shot and killed in his van the other day. If a cop can't protect himself, what do you think some Joe Schmoe will do? And all that will do is put MORE people who don't know how to fire a gun on the streets and create MORE instances of little kids shooting themselves or someone else after finding a gun in the houe (because you KNOW not everyone will buy a gun lock, keep it locked up in a special gun cabinet, blah blah blah). More guns isn't the answer, letting police crackdown on gangs without the fear of being sued is the answer. Cops have admitted they aren't being as aggressive in persuing and stopping gangs becuase they feel City Hall doesn't have their back when it comes to being sued. They crackdown on some gangbangers, maybe get a little rough in getting them off the street and the next thing you know they're being sued by the family claiming brutality. And city hall just pays up to avoid being sued and then suspends the cop to make everyone happy. So the cops are saying it isn't worth it. What needs to be done is for city hall to have the cops backs, not immediately cave in when they get sued because somebody's "baby" was roughed up by the cops, even though their "baby" was in a car with three other guys and a couple of guns at 3 in the morning. Let the cops fight fire with fire like they're supposed to and all of this random killing will at least slow down.

We need more higher paying jobs period.  Young men would be less likely to join gangs if there were more opportunities available.
