Anyone know what to do at the Chicago O'Hare airport for a 7.5 hour layover. Is there anywhere close outside the airport to go see or hang out at?

  1. Ohare is a bit of a ride from downtown. With how crazy airports are and chicago traffic you probably wouldn't have much time downtown. Around Ohare is nothing special but you could leave to go get a bite to eat or catch a movie or something, anything to get out of the airport.

  2. There is nothing fun AT the airport.  Take the train downtown where there's more to do and see.

  3. Well for one, you have to eat Italian Beef from Portillo's or have a Chicago style deep dish pizza from Lou Malnati's Giordano's, or Gino's East..

  4. You have time to go to downtown Chicago and back. If you give yourself an hour to get to downtown and an hour to get back, you can ride the Blue line train directly from the airport to the city and have about three hours to walk around, see a few things and maybe eat lunch. There's nothign really outside the airport. The closest city, Rosemont, is just a bunch of hotels and crappy chain food places like Chili's or TGI Fridays. Go to downtown Chicago, but make sure you leave extra time to get back through security. But seven and a half hours should be enough to take a peek at the city. But don't wander to far away from the train in case you lose track of time and have to get back in a hurry,

  5. 71/2 hrs is enough time to visit or see some interesting sites and eat at a great restaurant...or 2.  Don't eat at ORD.  Get on the blue line (CTA train) and head downtown (the Loop).

Before you do that find a destination or 2 and a restaurant or 2.

Get a piece of paper and go to the following sites for places to see, places to eat good or interesting food and how to get there.  Write down the address...you will need them for the last website which is your transportation.  For some places a cab or free trolley may be simpler.  Only a few attractions are serviced by the trolley.  Enjoy our city:
