Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher feels 2012 team better than rivals - NFL News
The National Football Conference (NFC) North Division will be one of the toughest divisions in the National Football League (NFL) this year.
Boasting three teams whose rosters are filled to the brim with offensive talent in the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, the north division will put up some great matches for fans in the 2012 regular season.
Apologies to the Minnesota Vikings but they will likely spend the season rebuilding for the long term.
Chicago Bears linebacker, Brian Urlacher, though believes that the 2012 Bears are much better than their divisional rivals and have improved greatly in the offseason by bringing in some top talent in both the offensive and defensive rosters.
Speaking to the Chicago Tribune on Monday, Urlacher said:
"It’s perfect, and just the way we like it."
Adding further he said:
"If you look at what we did last year before Jay (Cutler) got hurt, we won five in a row. When Jay went down, you saw what happened after that. When we’re healthy, I don’t see a better team in the NFC North.”
Urlacher went on to add that he does not know whether the Packers and Lions have improved in the current offseason but the Bears definitely have.
"Last year, Green Bay and Detroit were in the playoffs, so they should be talking about them. I don’t know if they got any better in the offseason, but I know we got better."
The Bears added wide receiver, Brandon Marshall, to the roster in the current offseason reuniting him with his good friend from the Denver Broncos, quarterback, Jay Cutler, and also added running back, Michael Bush.
With the offence reinforced, the Bears seem confident of challenging for the playoffs in 2012.
Last year the franchise ended with a poor 8-8 record after going on a five-game losing streak following a thumb injury to Cutler in Week 11.
This year though the franchise like Urlacher is in a bullish mood ahead of the new season and seem set to make a strong challenge for the playoffs with some players even contemplating that this Chicago side is good enough to reach and even come home with
the Super Bowl.
